Angry Birds is a simple yet highly addicting arcade game. The premise is to take out the pigs by launching a variety of birds into them or hurling the birds into objects which then hit the pigs. Though the premise is simple, the game offers many different levels and a great deal of strategy combined with environmental physics. This games simplicity and wide re-playability make Angry Birds as one of the best values we have yet seen on the app store.

Plants vs. Zombies is one of the best values for the money that I can think currently exists on the app store. A life and house defense game that has you protecting yourself from Zombies by using fun and colorful plants. This is a must own for any strategy game enthusiast.

Doodle Jump

Doodle Jump is a simple yet addictive game that has wasted much of my time and I am sure will do the same for you. The beauty of the game is in its simplicity with the object being to jump up as high as you can from platform to platform while avoiding objects. Be sure to pick this one up if you want a simple, addictive game on the go.

Mini Golf 99 Holes Theme Park

Mini Golf 99 Holes Theme Park is a fun, yet simple game with visuals similar to Hot Shots Golf. The load times are deter from the experience of the game, but overall it is a decent game. There is a free and paid version of which I highly recommend the free one first to make sure you can deal with the nuances of the game.

Wolfenstein 3D Classic

The classic shooter that started it all returns for a remake on the iPhone and iPod Touch. Controls are good and the motion is smooth. You have many control options and sound is just like you remembered it. The experience is just what is to be expected and more from a portable. If you don’t buy the full version at least check out the lite version, you can’t go wrong.

Mega Man II

Metal Gear Solid Touch is based on the MGS 4 game for PS3. The story is the same, but this time the game has been made into a picturesque shooting gallery. The controls are well thought out and the game has all the add-ins you would expect from a Metal Gear game. See the video for the details. and if you love the MGS Universe, this is a must-buy.

Doctor Awesome

Doctor Awesome is one of those emerging iPhone and iPod apps that seems like it could cost more than the .99 cents that it does. The value here is quite good and the graphics are very much comic-like in their nature. The game innovates by using your contacts as the patients you operate on. This game is worth its cost and then some.
